So Much to Share

However, in the beginning there was...

I am sharing the experiences with my classes since returning to Overbrook High School. The girls of Archbishop Porter in Takoradi remain in my thinking, my sleeping, my spirit. I am thinking of our three American girls, all of Ghanaian decent, Claudia, Imam, and Vanessa. Each of these girls have been sent from the USA to Takoradi for varied reasons by Ghanaian families -- all are succeeding within the rules and regulations of such a drastic change in school rules and climate, both academically and socially.

I am more than pleased to have met all of these girls. Now to support the school's library and to build upon their defunct computer lab. I must say, the best Internet connection I had in Ghana was on the Archbishop Porter campus.

  1. Comment: Believe it or not it's actually a good thing that there is hardly any connection in Ghana because that could lead to a major distraction.

Question: Why isn't there internet connection in Ghana?

  2. I really enjoyed how peaceful and serene the atmosphere is inside Ghana. I love how the Ghanaian girls carry themselves like young women should. I love how Ghanaian women have more discipline and respect the boundary of teacher and student.

Fact: Ghana's population is estimated at 20 million, roughly ten percent of whom live in and around the capital city of Accra.

Do the Ghanaian people enjoy other types of music aside from Ghanaian and American?

  4. Based upon the picture above with all the little boys. They seem very engaged in the conversation , but I wonder does the male teachers have to teach the male students? or is is mixed between the two.
Religious FACTS about Ghana: Ghana is primarily a Christian country. The Central Intelligence agency estimates that 69 percent of the population is Christian, with 16 percent Muslim and 8.5 percent following indigenous beliefs or nothing at all.

Do they get to choose there own religion , as children ?
